Established in 1965, Kagoshima Women's College (KWC) as a 2-year college has provided education to women in and out of Kagoshima, and has contributed to the community for more than 50 years.

School year starts in April and finishes in March. All the classes are taught in Japanese, so it is highly recomended that you have passed N2 level of JLPT test before enrollment examination.

Scholarship

  • ¥300,000 to all the students enrolling in the course of Care and Welfare to support students aiming to be caregivers
  • Some nursing care facilities offer international students a scholarship for your enrollment fee and tuition. Students will be exempt from repayments if they work for the facilities in Kagoshima that have offered you scholarship for a certain period of time after graduation. To apply for thie scholarship, you need to contact us BEFORE applying for the college and need to study in the couse of Care and Welfare.

 

Qualifications for Admissions

Applicants need to meet all the following qualifications.

  1. Not a Japanese national
  2. Japanese language proficiency to learn at college. (e.g. N2 level of JLPT)
  3. 12 years of school education outside Japan or have Certificate of International Baccalaureate
  4. Status of Residence in Japan defined on Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act that allows one to enroll at a college (if you reside in Japan)

 

Required Documents

You must submit all the following documents when applying for KWC.

  1. Application Form (This can be downloaded during the application periods and need to be printed out)
  2. Graduation Certificate of your highest degree
  3. Academic Transcript
  4. Score Certificate of JLPT or EJU
  5. Statement of Purpose and Resume in Japanese
  6. Letter of Guarantee
  7. Proof of your financial support
  8. Health Certificate
  9. 2 Photographs of yourself taken in the last 3 months
  10. Copy of your Passport
  11. Examination Fee of ¥27,000
  12. Self-addressed stamped envelope for reply

 

Selection Method

Document review, essay in Japanese, and interview in Japanese.
